PRE CARE
Follow the timeline below with regards to discontinuing products prior to your appointment:
- AHA/BHA/PHA (e.g. glycolic acid, salicylic acid, gluconolacctone), retinol, Vitamin C, exfoliation (chemical or physical) 72 hours
- Topical or oral prescription acne medication (e.g. Accutane/Isotretinoin) a minimum of 6 months
- Prescription Hydroquinone 3 - 4 months
- OTC (over the counter) Hydroquinone 1 month
- Vitamin A prescriptions (e.g. Tretinoin) 2 weeks
- Facial waxing 1 week
- Do not wear makeup or any other skin care products (moisturizer, SPF etc.) in the treatment area to your session.
- If you have a history of herpes or cold sores, consider a course of antiviral medication prior to your treatment. This will prevent an outbreak of cold sores if you are prone to them. Cold sores can also occur for people who are not prone to them, but who have sensitive skin.
POST CARE
- DAY 1
o Do absolutely nothing to the skin if possible.
o Alternatively, 30 minutes post treatment use lukewarm water only and pat dry with a fresh, clean towel.
o For the first 24 hours apply Lift HG as needed until the tube is completed.
o Redness and/or swelling is common and will resolve within 1-2 days.
o Bruising, pinpoint bleeding, minor scabbing, minor breakouts may occur and will resolve within 7-10 days of treatment.
o AVOID:
- Putting anything else on your skin today. This includes make up, sunscreen, or other skin care products.
- Clothing, headbands, hats, or scarves on the treated area for 48 hours after treatment.
- Sun, heat, saunas/hot tubs, exercise/sweating, and extreme temperature for 7 days.
- Using an electric or manual facial cleansing brush of any kind (e.g., Clarisonic) for 7 days.
- Picking, peeling, rubbing, scrubbing, or irritating your skin in any way while it is healing, as this may cause scarring.
-DAY 2
o Use lukewarm water only and pat dry with a fresh, clean towel.
o Apply Rescue Calming Complex as needed until the tube is completed.
o Mineral make-up & SPF may be worn; however, recommend leaving skin clear if possible.
- DAY 3-6
o You may resume using a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF (minimum 30) as your daily/nightly routine.
-DAY 7 +
o You may resume your regular skin care routine if peeling/flaking has subsided.
o If you are still peeling/flaking, be patient and allow your skin the time it needs to heal before starting back on your routine.
o You may resume regular activity.

- Shave the treatment area prior to treatment (no waxing or plucking).
POST CARE
- Avoid touching the treatment area. If required, wash hands immediately prior to touching the treatment area.
- Redness and perifollicular edema (i.e., swelling around the follicle causing rash/ bug bite appearance) are common and will resolve within 48 hours. Apply a cool compress to any areas causing discomfort post treatment.
- Bruising and swelling are less common but may occur and will resolve with time.
- Notify Jamie (416.300.0027) of any concerns (blistering, excessive redness/swelling, etc.)
- Consult with a physician within 24 hours if any signs of infection develop following the procedure.
- Hair may take up to 2 weeks to fall out. Exfoliation is recommended one week post treatment so long as your are healing as anticipated.
- Hair removal requires a series of treatments.The number of treatments depends on body location and type of hair.
- Do not wax or pluck between treatments.
- Avoid sun exposure for 48 hours post treatment and use a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen for protection and prevention.
- Avoid heat – hot tubs, saunas, etc. for 48 hours.
- Avoid AHA/BHA/PHA (e.g. glycolic acid, salicylic acid, gluconolacctone), retinol, Vitamin C, exfoliation (chemical or physical) 72 hours post-treatment.
- Consult with Jamie about when to resume skin care regimen.
Unfortunately you cannot complete a chemical peel if:
PRE CARE
Follow the timeline below with regards to discontinuing products prior to your chemical peel:
- **AHA/BHA/PHA (e.g. glycolic acid, salicylic acid, gluconolacctone), retinol, Vitamin C, exfoliation (chemical or physical) 5 - 7 days **
- Topical or oral prescription acne medication (e.g. Accutane/Isotretinoin) a minimum of 6 months
- Prescription Hydroquinone 3 - 4 months
- OTC (over the counter) Hydroquinone 1 month
- Vitamin A prescriptions (e.g. Tretinoin) 2 weeks
- Hair colouring or brow tinting 2 weeks
- Facial waxing 1 week
- Limit sun exposure for 2 weeks prior to treatment.
- Ensure skin is well hydrated/moisturized (i.e. drink plenty of water, liberally use your moisturizer at least twice daily) and avoid picking or scratching any blemishes leading up to your treatment.
- *** Please note that this treatment cannot be completed if you have an impaired skin barrier.***
On the day of the Treatment:
- No sweating or physical exertion
- No outdoor activities
- Appropriate clothing and hairstyle for the mask application ( i.e. hair pulled back, zip up/ button up clothing to avoid having to go over your head for removal)
POST CARE
- Avoid touching the treatment area. If required, wash hands immediately prior to touching the treatment area.
- Consult with a physician within 24 hours if any signs of infection develop following the procedure.
- Make up can be applied 15 minutes post treatment. Ensure brushes are clean.
• For two days post procedure:
- Avoid direct sun exposure.
- Stay as cool as possible. Overheating internally can cause hyperpigmentation.
- Do not put the treated area directly into a hot shower spray.
- Do not use hot tubs, steam rooms, or saunas.
- Do not go swimming.
- Do not participate in activities that would cause excessive perspiration.
- Do not use loofahs or other means of mechanical exfoliation.
- Do not direct a hair dryer onto the treated area.
- Do not apply ice or ice water to the treated area.
- Moisturizer should be applied at least twice daily.
- Wear a minimum SPF 30 daily indefinitely. Do not go to a tanning bed for at least 2 weeks post procedure.
- Avoid Active Topicals (such as AHAs, tretinoin etc.) 7 days post treatment as they may cause irritation.
- Light flaking for several days is normal. Avoid picking or pulling on any loosening or peeling skin. This could potentially cause scarring/hyperpigmentation, infection and/or increase signs of aging. If no peeling occurs, this does not mean the treatment was less efficacious.
- Do not have another treatment until your clinician advises you to do so.
- Notify Jamie (416.300.0027) of any concerns (blistering, excessive redness/swelling, etc.)
